Healthcare providers and educators

In many developing countries, medical textbooks are difficult to find or too expensive for hospitals, universities and medical training schools to purchase.

This leaves medical students learning from out of date textbooks and practising professionals providing care without the most up to date information.

Our response

We already provide books for a range of medical settings. In Uganda, for example we provided over 1,000 up-to-date medical and healthcare titles to the hospital libraries of 3 large hospitals that provide specialist care following referral from smaller primary care unit. These books will improve the quality of care for an estimated 65,000 hospital patients.

Moving forward, we will upscale our work to source relevant books and provide them to healthcare institutions within and beyond our current networks, working closely with their librarians to meet specific needs.
