Remembering Her Majesty the Queen

We join with people across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world in expressing our deep sorrow at the death of Her Majesty the Queen.

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the entire Royal Family, and in particular to our Patron, The Queen Consort, and to His Majesty King Charles III, for their profound loss.

Her Majesty set an example of selfless service which inspired millions of people around the world to work to improve the lives of others.

The loss of Her Majesty the Queen will be felt deeply across The Commonwealth, and by all those whose lives she touched.

During the period of national mourning, we will be pausing many of our normal fundraising and communications activities as a mark of respect for Her Majesty the Queen. We will however continue providing books to our partners, honouring her tradition of service by supporting readers around the world.

We echo the strength of feeling expressed by our Vice Patron, Lord Boateng, in his address to the House of Lords. You can view that address below:

We are deeply saddened by Her Majesty’s passing, and our thoughts remain with her family at this very difficult time.
