Generation Reader

Together, we can share the power of books to create a generation of confident readers.

Home Test

By 2030, 42% of the world’s young people will be in Africa – and millions of them will have no books at all. With your help, we’ll give 10 million African young people access to the books they need to build a more equal world.

Across Africa, too many children and young people live in a world without books. For millions of young people, libraries and schools offer the only chance to read, yet they are all too often under-resourced and can offer only a few old books. The worst-off children do not attend school and have no books at all.

Without books, education suffers, breaking the cycle of poverty is impossible and futures are put at risk.
