Partner profile: HP Inc UK Ltd
In 2024, HP Inc UK Ltd approached Book Aid International to donate specially printed bilingual books to Ukraine.
HP Inc is a global technology leader and creator of solutions that enable people to bring their ideas to life and connect to the things that matter most. Operating in more than 170 countries, HP delivers a wide range of innovative and sustainable devices, services and subscriptions for personal computing, printing, 3D printing, hybrid work, gaming, and more.
In September 2024 HP Inc collaborated with Precision Proco and publisher Pineapple Lane, to fund a donation of specially printed, bilingual books for children affected by the war in Ukraine. This supported our partner PEN Ukraine and their ‘Unbreakable Libraries’ project which aims to get books to hundreds of libraries which have been impacted by the war.
This initiative offered children customised books in Ukrainian and English, written and illustrated by widely recognised Ukrainian authors and artists, with the intention of offering them stories and images that reflect their culture.
All the project partners came together to help pack the books in our London warehouse, which were then sent to Ukraine as part of our second shipment to Ukraine in two years. The shipment included over 27,383 brand-new books which will reach over 250,000 displaced children across Ukraine.
This sees the start of a partnership which we hope will continue in the future.
Using HP’s latest digital print innovations, Pineapple Lane, Book Aid International, and PEN Ukraine worked together to respond quickly to deliver reading materials for children in need.
