Support precious deliveries
This Christmas, will you help precious bundles of joy arrive safe and well – by sending a gift that could provide medical books?
The medical books you help us send provide life-saving information.
In Bwindi, Uganda, they’re helping midwives like Mariam, Sypher and Gorret bring babies safely into the world.
But there are still too many midwives in Uganda and around the world without the books they need to safely deliver babies. Your donation this Christmas could make all the difference.
These books really help save lives. We really need them. I had a mother where the cord had presented first. When the cord is out for just one hour, you can’t get the baby out. But I had read what to do and I immediately did that manoeuvre. Then we rushed the mother to the operating theatre and were able to save mother and baby.

Midwives worldwide need more books
In so many communities worldwide, health professionals and students are struggling to access up-to-date medical information. Libraries often don’t have the funds to keep their collections current. Students can’t afford to buy their own copies. Online information may not be correct, and patchy internet makes it even more unreliable.
Not having access to the latest medical knowledge affects students, practitioners and patients – but with books, the picture changes. Your gift this Christmas will send more books and help more midwives like Sypher deliver the high quality care that every mum deserves.
Mariam’s story
Mariam was inspired to become a midwife by her grandmother – a traditional birth attendant – and used books you helped us send to excel in her studies. Now, she’s joining us in asking you to donate this Christmas so that others can benefit from books too – and make more precious deliveries possible.
I feel fortunate that I went to a nursing and midwifery school where we had up-to-date medical books, thanks to wonderful people like you. I recall a time when we had a breach delivery, where the baby’s bottom is first. The manoeuvres I got from Myles for Midwives helped me save the baby and the mother.
