Supporting readers living with conflict
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale ware in Ukraine, we’ve worked with PEN Ukraine to supply more than 70,000 books to Ukrainian libraries. In this blog, Ukrainian journalist and photographer Stanislav Kozliuk reflects on why books matter:
Books allow you to break free from the darkness of war. To see at least a glimmer of hope, to believe that justice exists, and that good will prevail despite everything, no matter how brutal or merciless it may seem.
